Volunteering with Mountain Roots Food Project is a way to give back to the community, share the camaraderie of like-minded folks, learn new skills, practice what you know, celebrate the seasons, and have a lot of fun!  Our volunteers are all ages, and come from all walks of life.

Some Mountain Roots volunteers are one-time-only folks, come come once a week, some volunteer from home doing ‘background’ work like writing articles or graphic design, and others are on-call for special projects like cooking for an event or building a tool shed. We’re always open to new ideas - many of our projects are started by a volunteer with a great idea and the willingness to lead a new project.

Our volunteers also receive an abundance of fresh, local, organic food during the growing season.

We are Community Supported and Volunteer Powered!   So many people play a role in putting our projects into action. Our work would not be possible without the on-going support of community partners, generous funding from individuals and businesses and grants,  and our volunteers. Please take a minute while you’re here and check out all the people who are building the local food systems with us.
