Youth Gardens

Living Classrooms at two schools and a youth garden at our Community Center provide vibrant experiential learning spaces for 1,000+  rural Colorado K-12 students to experience full-circle growing cycles, learn about healthy food and lifestyle choices, promote environmental awareness and stewardship, and support schools with integrated science/nutrition education.

We build “ecosystem” gardens whose design includes multiple components that function together: high-altitude vegetable crops, perennials/native plants, herbs, birdhouses, flowering shrubs and berry bushes, housing for native bees, compost systems, raised beds for experiments/tests, an education-gathering space, and spaces for rotating demonstrations of historic or cultural growing methods.

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING SPONSORS FOR EACH OF OUR GARDENS.
