Free courses committed to ensuring that low income households are connected to the healthy food they need. We educate participants on how to shop smart and to cook healthy low-cost meals for themselves and their families.
Mountain Roots is proud to be a community partner of Nourish CO (nourishcolorado.org/), an organization that works to build resilient food systems and increase equitable access to food. For 20 years, Cooking Matters has empowered families with the skills to stretch their food budgets and cook healthy meals so their children get nutritious food at home. Cooking Matters courses are hands-on lessons that explore how to shop smart and be creative in the kitchen with healthy ingredients. Our participants and volunteer instructors come together each week to share lessons and meals with each other. Classes are FREE to the public and are taught in both English and Spanish.
